Permanent full time and part time positions availableRotating roster (4 days on 2 days off) - Morning, Afternoon and Night shifts, Monday to Sunday
We have an excellent opportunity for you to work in a new service within Specialist Mental Health Services (SMHS) at Hillmorton Hospital.
Wāhi Tautoko is a 10-bedded service located in Building 8b. We aim to support consumers that require extended assessment or treatment following an admission to the acute inpatient service (Te Awakura) prior to discharge.
This may include:
tāngata whaiora who are presenting to services for the first time that may require extended assessment and support around management of their symptoms.
tāngata whaiora that have an identified discharge pathway on admission – i.e. home or supported accommodation – but may require some additional assessment and upskilling to safely and successfully transition into the community.tāngata whaiora who may have limited social supports and require support to increase their engagement in their local communities.
The goals of the service include:
Provision of a safe and supportive environment to provide extended assessment, treatment and rehabilitation following an admission to the adult acute service.
Teaching skills to help support illness management and to support consumers to live the life they want to live.
Support development of structure and meaningful routines.
Support safe discharge into a community setting.
Salary starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum. Based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement

The successful candidate must be available to work all shifts (Morning, Afternoon and Nights) across Monday to Sunday.

Previous Mental Health experience is preferred but not a barrier for the right person to work in Whai Tautoko.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Confident and resilient.
Strong focus on relationship-building.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
