Job Description

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team in Auckland. You will be mainly responsible for maintaining and evaluating records of financial transactions in account books and computerized accounting systems. This is a full time permanent position, working at least 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:
Keeping financial records, such as GST, PAYE, Time & Wages records of staff, wages calculation and payment, account payables/receivables, daily incomes and expenses
Maintaining and balancing accounts using manual and computerised system
Preparing invoices, purchase orders and bank deposits
Sending customer invoices and recording payments received
Processing payroll in an accurate and timely manner
Reconciling accounts against monthly bank statements
Monitoring cash flow and lines of credit
Preparing and producing financial statements, budget and expenditure reports and analyses using account books, ledgers and accounting software packages
Gathering and organising the relevant data and works closely to make the information accessible to the accountant
Verifying recorded transactions and reporting irregularities to the owner
May be required to prepare forms reporting business tax entitlements and obligations such as the amount of goods and services tax paid and collected
Any other duties that may be assigned by the owner

Requirements:
We expect the applicants to have at least 3 years relevant work experience or a relevant qualification at level 4 or higher
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa with unlimited work right
