Job Description
Positively influence health outcomes for our tāngata and their whānau through effective leadership of our Hauora Māori service.
Lead, develop and nurture relationships between hospital clusters and relevant Māori and community agencies.
Develop best practice Hauora Māori models of care which focus on a holistic health model.
This role is based at Burwood Hospital Campus.

The Kaiwhakahaere Hauora Māori provides day to day leadership, operational management, and planning for our Hauora Kaimahi, with a focus on manaakitanga, cultural supervision, cultural support, cultural development, workforce development and supporting strategic development and organisational priorities.
In partnership with the Director of Allied Health, management, and clinical managers, the Kaiwhakahaere facilitates the ongoing development of best practice, promotion of Māori models of care and professional development. They lead service delivery changes and practice development to meet improved outcomes for our tāngata and their whānau, that supports the delivery of safe, quality care.

| About You
We are looking for an experienced, effective leader to provide leadership, oversight, and management of the performance of our Hauora Māori Service. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to service improvement and transformation that enhances equity and outcomes for our tāngata and their whānau. You will have experience in delivering culturally responsive and appropriate services, that follow tikanga best practice guidelines.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Knowledge of te reo Māori me ōna Tikanga
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, and in-depth knowledge of the health sector and issues affecting tāngata whaiora and equality of healthcare.
Experience in people leadership and/or management.
Knowledge of change management and Quality Improvement methodology supplemented by experience leading change, projects, as well as practice and quality improvement initiatives across the service.
Knowledge in financial management and experience managing budgets appropriately.
Experience with clinical teaching/supervision, training, and development of staff.
Experience making judgements in complex situations where there is incomplete information or solutions are not obvious.
Post-graduate diploma (leadership or clinical), or certificate with evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to complete post graduate diploma within the role.
Knowledge of NZ Health & Disability sector standards and the Privacy Act within a health context.
Knowledge of Te Mauri o Rongo and Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Service Standard
