He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are seeking expressions of interest for the Business Leader Hospital Services – Medical for Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi on a fixed-term basis until the end of the year.
The Business Leader is an integral member of the Hospital Services Leadership Team. This role is responsible for providing sound business and operational management and to work in partnership with Nursing, Medical and Allied Health Leaders to support Hospital Services progress the strategic direction of the organisation.
A key focus will be supporting Acute Care across all hospital specialties. This involves managing a wide range of portfolios including, but not limited to; Medical Specialties, Pharmacy, Clinical Physiology, Emergency Departments, Acute Assessment and Planning Unit, Specialist Health Services for Older People, Medical Day Stay and Volunteer Service.

First and foremost, we are seeking a passionate individual with extensive leadership experience, ideally within the field of health. Due to the complex nature of this role, we require someone who is not only confident in navigating a constantly changing environment, but rather thrives when it comes to balancing quality improvement, risk minimisation, and people management. If you are passionate about community-building, bridging interpersonal relationships and acting upon tangible opportunities for change, we look forward to your expression of interest.
We also encourage knowledge of Tikanga, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the principles of Kaupapa Māori as these are integral to the functioning of Health New Zealand.
