We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty’s largest employers with over 4000 staff.
He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The Medical Oncology service at Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty provides specialist services to people with cancer living across the Bay of Plenty. The service provides ambulatory outpatient clinics at both Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals, with treatment units based at both sites. The service also provides medical oncology oversite to current patients admitted to inpatient care and consultation advice to inpatient teams along with participating fully in Multidisciplinary meetings around treatment options.
He korero mōu - About You
We are looking to recruit an SMO with proficiency in the provision of Medical Oncology specialist care to join our service. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery of both ambulatory and inpatient specialist care for people diagnosed with cancer and enthusiasm to participate in the ongoing development of services for the people of Hauora a Toi.
The role will participate in the delivery of education (undergraduate and postgraduate) and contribute to the supervision and development of advanced trainees
