Job Description
The Role
Are you passionate about horticulture? The Timaru District Council is seeking one experienced Gardening Leading Hand to join our newly created in-house team. This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the upkeep of the Council’s gardens, parks, landscapes, and other green spaces.
As a Gardening Leading Hand, you will report to the Parks Operations Team Leader. You will coordinate and direct our team's efforts out in the field while actively participating in horticulture-related work yourself. Your leadership and hands-on approach will ensure that the greenspaces across the Timaru District remain beautiful and well-maintained.
Ideally, you need to have proven experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field with knowledge of horticultural techniques, tools, and equipment. Your ability to coordinate a team and lead by example is particularly appreciated. Experience in a similar gardening team role is desired.
