Job Description

Te Haeata/The Opportunity The Principal Advisor NSO will take responsibility for the development and implementation of an operational intelligence model that reflects the dynamic and challenging security environment NSO operates within. The Principal Advisor will be forward thinking and take ownership of the 2024/25 NSO Work Programme overseeing numerous operational initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to :
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing an operational security intelligence model.
Demonstrated experience leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a flexible security deployment model, capable of responding to the business unit's dynamic security environment.
Identify dataset gaps and opportunities, and work with key internal and external stakeholders to source and collect this data in an efficient and legally compliant manner.
Demonstrated experience developing high quality intelligence products, directives and security reports.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key external justice security groups.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience To be successful in this role you will: Have a strong understanding of the justice sector, court operations and the judiciary. Bring an extensive background operating in a security environment in New Zealand. Extensive intelligence experience operating in New Zealand and across the justice sector Experience in project management within a New Zealand government environment
Bring an understanding of Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori me onā tikanga
Bring a working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of Te Tāhū o te Ture – Ministry of Justice
