Job Description:
We are seeking a Retail Buyer at BALAJI NZ LIMITED TRADE AS YOGIJIS FOODMART HAMILTON INDIAN SUPERMARKET, Hamilton, New Zealand. Our Retail Buyer should be able to motivate personnel to perform according to their maximum capacity. This is a great opportunity to lead a dynamic, friendly team where excellence, success, and people are valued and rewarded. We are a busy running store where every day would be different to manage as Retail Buyer.
This is full-time, permanent employment with a minimum of 30 hours a week and an hourly rate of NZ$31-32/-hour.

You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Monitor the sales data and stock level regularly to ensure that a full range of products are available in-store at all times.
Build new categories and find new suppliers to Expand the product range in line with company strategy and policy.
Work with existing suppliers to make improvements and build relationships.
Build strong vendor relationships which ensure best terms and prices are negotiated to meet or exceed budgeted financial targets.
Negotiate with suppliers for pricing as well as for the terms of delivery.
Review & and analyse new products and consumer trends to achieve maximum sales of goods in the store.
Ensure all the ranges are aligned to season, current trends, and customer demand and support the company brand position in the market.
Ensure all buying and ordering activities are completed with accuracy and timely manner.
Communicate with sales personnel and other relevant team members in the store to understand customer demands and requirements.
Ensure all core lines are always in stock and all minimum and maximum levels are updated and maintained.
Perform a timely review of aged, slow or overstocked lines and initiate/introduce a “clearance strategy” if required.
Ensuring all lines advertised/promoted are in stock for the planned promotional dates.
Ensure that presentation within the grocery store and liquor department is consistent with high standards to achieve maximum sales of goods.
Ensure prices are clearly displayed, food safety standards are adhered to and that fast-friendly service is provided by the grocery store.
Monitor and analyse profit margins and sales during and after each promotion.
Work with the storeroom manager ensuring that all the department's stock has been received upon delivery and finalising invoices.
Ensure an effective management of in-season and out-of-season inventory of grocery and liquor.
Ensure that goods prices set to achieve maximum profit to the company.

Our ideal candidates will have.
Must hold a Relevant degree OR relevant work experience of 3 years.
Having communication and computer skills
Strong interpersonal abilities with organisational and leadership skills
Possess a passion for the retail industry and a willingness to make a difference each day.
Possess a high level of business acumen with an ability to work independently.
Great team player with team bonding skills
Available to work on weekends, and public holidays.
Able to start early and finish late shifts when required.
