Job Description
Great opportunity for an experienced, registered drainlayer to join us on the Central Interceptor Project on a 12 month fixed term contract.
What you will be doing:
Pipe Laying: Handle up to 2.1m diameter pipes at depths of up to 4m
Excavation Work: Ensure trenches are excavated to the correct design width, depth, and grade
Safety First: Ensure all trenches are benched, battered, or shored based on ground conditions
Team Collaboration: Work closely with Site Engineers and Supervisors regarding materials and site needs
Skilled Labouring: Assist with site activities, including excavator operations (experience preferred)
Compliance: Adhere to all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
What you will need:
PGDB Registered & Licensed Drainlayer
Experience: 5-10 years in heavy civils/construction
Driver’s License: Full Class 1 driver’s license required
Depth Experience: Proven experience laying pipes at depths of 4m
Trench Shield Installation: Demonstrable experience with installing trench shields and safe access methods
Shoring & Wet Conditions: Experience working in challenging ground conditions
Excavator Skills: Competency on excavators is a plus, but not essential
Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail: Strong skills in troubleshooting and meticulous execution
Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills
