Judges Associate at the Court of Appeal
Fixed Term Opportunity – Based in Auckland

The Office of Chief Justice has a secondment opportunity for the role of Judge's Associate at the Court of Appeal. This is a fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2025, commencing as soon as possible and will be based in Auckland.
The role of a Judge's Associate includes typing, dictating, and proofreading documents, maintaining annotation texts, managing diary, organising functions, arranging travel itineraries and supporting visiting judiciary. There may be some travel to Wellington.
The preference is to fill the vacancy through the recruitment of an experienced administrator, case manager or legal secretary capable of applying and adapting their current knowledge of case management, registry operations, tribunals or national transcription within a new jurisdiction. We will offer training and ongoing support as part of this opportunity.

Ideally the successful candidate will have the following:
Experience providing administration support within court systems or a legal firm
Proficiency in Ministry procedures, business processes and database management
Confident IT capability in a wide range of applications plus the ability to quickly learn and keep up to date with constantly changing technology trends.
Typing speed of at least 65 wpm with a very high level of accuracy and presentation
Available for domestic travel.
